The Organizing Committee is pleased to invite you to the 1st International Conference on “The Integrated Protection of Date Palms,” to be held at Arabian Gulf University, Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, from March 13-14, 2017.
We are diligently working on bringing together researchers from a variety of disciplines who are working on vital topics in this area. These researchers are from virtually all date producing countries. This conference will have two full days of technical sessions, along with poster sessions regarding issues on the cutting edge of date palm pest management. There will also be many opportunities for the exchange of information, ideas and interaction among colleagues.
The conference logo has been adapted from a date palm impression from the Bronze Age that was cast on a seal from Bahrain, which was at that time the center of the Dilmun civilization (2000 BC). Throughout history, date palms have been considered to be a fundamental source of life for the Bahraini people, not only for their nutritious fruits, but also for various other aspects of life.
We look forward to welcoming you to Manama in March 2017.
